Downtown Dubai is a district of about 2 km² built by Emaar around Burj Khalifa, The Dubai Mall and the Dubai Fountain. Luxury hotels in Downtown Dubai put all three on your doorstep, along with Dubai Opera and the Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall metro station.
It is an easy base for a first trip to Dubai: the sights are a walk away, the metro Red Line runs to the airport, and the Palm is under half an hour by car. What it does not have is a beach.
Every hotel on this page is inside Downtown’s community boundary (Dubai Municipality, as mapped on OpenStreetMap): Sheikh Zayed Road, Financial Centre Road and the edge of Business Bay. We left out hotels that use “Downtown” in their names but sit in Business Bay, such as The St. Regis Downtown and Pullman Dubai Downtown, and Mandarin Oriental Downtown, across Sheikh Zayed Road in Al Wasl. Armani Hotel Dubai, inside Burj Khalifa, had no five-star rate for our dates, so it is not listed.
