Where Dubai's New Year's Eve fireworks were last year, and which hotels put you close to them. Four spots, from Burj Khalifa to the Palm, with the five-star prices we found for 29 December 2026 to 1 January 2027, for 2 adults.

Why New Year in Dubai books up early
Dubai's New Year's Eve is spread across the city, not one square. Last year Dubai Police mapped 48 fireworks displays at 40 venues, from Burj Khalifa to Atlantis, The Palm and Burj Al Arab. The 2026/27 list was not out when we checked on 1 November 2026, so the sites on this page are last year's.
The rooms that look at a show go first. On New Year's Eve 2025, Khaleej Times reported that rooms with direct views of the fireworks had almost entirely sold out weeks before, and that most New Year bookings were fully prepaid.
Prices follow. In our checks, Address Downtown was £1,599 a night for 29 December to 1 January against £470 for 27 to 30 November, and Kempinski The Boulevard £871 against £321.

The lowest typical five-star price of the four, £481 a night for 2 adults, with hotels on JBR beach close to Bluewaters, a fireworks site last New Year's Eve. We found no source naming a hotel here with a direct fireworks view, so ask for a sea-facing room.

The priciest spot by far. All 5 five-star hotels we found here cost £2,409 a night or more for 2 adults on these dates, typically £2,670. In return, Burj Al Arab, Madinat Jumeirah and Marsa Al Arab were all fireworks sites last year.

03 When to book
When to book New Year in Dubai
Look for free cancellation first. When we checked, 11 of the 14 hotels on this page offered a free-cancellation rate for 29 December to 1 January. Last New Year's Eve, Khaleej Times reported (31 December 2025) that most bookings were fully prepaid and that rooms facing the fireworks had sold out weeks before.
Expect New Year prices. In our checks the same Downtown hotels cost about three times as much over New Year as in late November. Prices on this page were checked on 1 November 2026 and will change. Some Dubai resorts also make a gala dinner compulsory for guests staying on 31 December, so read the rate terms before you pay.

What is the weather in Dubai on New Year's Eve?
Mild and usually dry. December in Dubai averages a high of 27°C and a low of 17°C, with about 3 rainy days in the month. The fireworks are at midnight, so bring a light layer for standing outside.
Is the Dubai Metro open on New Year’s Eve?
Last year, yes. The Red and Green lines ran non-stop for 43 hours from 5am on 31 December, though Dubai Mall station closed early. Roads around Downtown closed in stages from 4pm, with part of Sheikh Zayed Road closed from 11pm.

It depends on the hotel. Some Dubai resorts make a New Year’s Eve gala dinner compulsory for guests staying on 31 December, paid to the hotel, so check the rate terms before you book and ask the hotel for the amount.
